Since I was little I know the brand Elie Saab. Most of my mom’s evening dresses are from Elie Saab. I am also really interested in this brand, I always watch their live runway show on The Light Of Now
The Haute Couture creations are amazing. I even called Elie Saab as the “creator of fairy tales”.
During my first Elie Saab show for Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2014-2015 I was able to go backstage before the show begins. It is always interesting to see what is happening backstage. Some models were lined up facing Hollywood mirrors with a makeup artist, hairdresser and manicure. Other models were around the little buffet on the side.
Haute Couture gowns and ensembles were hung up with the name and a picture of each model.
You also see all the energy and the stress of the creator who doesn’t stop interviews.
It is really exciting.
Then I was sitting in the front row. It is nice, we are even more captivated and we feel even more this crazy energy around out.
There is a great difference between watching the runway from your TV and assisting to the actual show.
In the room, all chatting and talking stops slowly. We then understand that it is about to start and all of a sudden the music starts to play.
It was all about embroidered gowns with silk threads, sequins, or Swarovski strass. It was incredibly beautiful and elegant.
I was so happy to be there because Elie Saab is one of my favorite designers and the creations were so beautiful that I almost cried.
This sensation we feel when something truly moves and inspires us. We are overwhelmed. Shivers going down our spines and the hair stand on the back of our neck and arms. This is exactly what I felt the first time I assisted to Elie Saab Haute Couture runway show.
I found the same emotions the following year for the Fall-Winter 2015-2016 collection.
For this collection, gold was the leitmotif colour, inspired by those original gowns that established the Elie Saab name on the global fashion stage
It is after this first Elie Saab show, after watching backstage, after being in this atmosphere that I knew I really wanted to belong to this world.
It scares me but it is exciting. But as they say, “If your dreams do not scare you is that they are not big enough.”
