Le Relais de l’Entrecôte

Who doesn’t know the “Relais de l’Entrecôte” ?

If you want to find a place with a beautiful french spirit, all in the simplicity and eat some good meat, this is the place I would think of.

It is a real Parisian bistrot, like those we idealize in our heads while thinking of Paris.
When you enter in the restaurant, often after a long time of waiting, you discover a warm and stylish décor.
We are in another time: waitresses wearing a white collard black dress and an apron as their uniform, make a quick but attentive service; tables covered in red, yellow, blue or green tablecloth and a glazed and embossed white paper are waiting for you ; and you are surrounded by large vintage posters, mirrors, all in a set of wood panelling.

Once installed, you are not asked anything except how you want your meat cooked, and what you want to drink. Your only choice to make will be for desserts.
A walnut salad is served as a starter, then come an ender sirloin steak served with its infamous sauce, to which the house keeps its recipe a secret, and golden thin-cut French fries.
You get a second service if you wish.
The place is simple, efficient and friendly. And it’s a real delight!

Cheese and desserts’ menu is then proposed. There are many temptations, such as chocolate profiteroles: delicious chou-pastry buns filled with vanilla ice-cream, and topped with a hot chocolate sauce with flaked and grilled almonds ; or vacherins. There is the Summer Vacherin which is a dessert with meringues, vanilla ice-cream and raspberry sorbet, topped with a raspberry coulis and Chantilly cream, and there is the Relais Vacherin which is exactly the same but with praline ice-cream, topped with a hot chocolate sauce.

        

The house holds its two values since its creation : love for good food and quality requirement. It is a real success. Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, what a beautiful house.
